Writer's Block: AKA
Feb. 27th, 2009 | 10:31 pm
My username is simple. It was born of frustration. After trying all my usual favorites, I gave up and said, neveragoodone because there's never a good one available anymore. :)

Writer's Block: Easy Like Sunday Morning
Dec. 28th, 2008 | 09:53 am
My favorite way to spend a Sunday morning is to grab a good cup of coffee (yay, Kenya AA fresh ground) and stretch out on the couch and just be. Sometimes I peruse postsecret and catch up on journals but other than that, it's lazy time!

For Posterity - or my Posterior
Dec. 27th, 2008 | 10:57 am
So I made a bastardized bread pudding for Christmas breakfast with the inlaws and just wanted to document it somewhere because it was so bloody good they asked me to bring it again next year.

Shamelessly stolen from
vonnielee - this one's going to be hard given my love of elaboration. Darn it.

Awesome! Fantastic! Incredible! I'm absolutely exuberant! :)
And I'm relieved it's over. I feel like a marathon runner who has finally collapsed in a heap by the side of the road, breathing in accomplishment and exuding pride.
Congratulations Barack, do us right!

and now I'm turned on to Lauren O'Connell. *sigh* I especially like "The Devil is Real." And I'm officially spending too much time on youtube.

I can't explain the fascination but something about the wide eyed innocent look coupled with the throaty delivery of lyrics like:
You ask me why I'm this way,
And all I can say
Is I've gone through my fair share of shit
Well, I just love Julia Nunes. I think I'm going to have to buy her albums. (If you click, be sure to check out "Regrets" and my personal favorite, "Flagpole Sitta.") I wish she could release an album of just her covers - she rawks it.

Take me to the river...put me in the water...

Well, maybe not. That water is frickin' cold this early in the morning! The hub went with me this morning - we took hot chocolate and a blanket and just sat on the rocks and listened to the water. I'm kicking myself in the ass because a gaggle of honking loud geese flew overhead and I couldn't get my fingers to move fast enough to flip to auto focus so I could shoot them. Figuring out aperture and shutterspeed for fog is a BITCH, lemme tell ya. And I missed a shooting a heron (I think that's what it is) in midflight. Kicking myself. Oh well, maybe next time. I plan to make it a regular thing - it's very relaxing. It was nice sitting in the cold silence of the fog, listening to ourselves breathe and watching the water flow around the rocks. A great way to start the day. Now the hub is napping on the couch and I'm playing with flickr. We're going to a local state park later to try to get some fall foliage shots. Then i think it's leftover pizza and beer - great way to end the weekend.
:)

Damnit, I just killed the stove. There goes $500 I don't have (well, didn't wanna spend). Shite. Oh well, it was old anyway - it had a good run. (Nearly 25)
But, I didn't get to bake the banana bread I was whipping up. Probably for the best. My hips didn't need banana nut chocolate chip bread anyway. Good thing I have a plethora of non-stove related recipes to rely on; here's hoping the microwave holds out till the new stove arrives.
*sigh*

A Singular Talent
Sep. 20th, 2008 | 03:26 pm
mood:
annoyed
What do my Neighbor Lady, my Mother-In-Law, Jehovah's Witnesses, and political canvassers all have in common? They all seem to show up at my house when A. I'm gross and bra-less, B: My house is in less than stellar condition, or C. ALL OF THE ABOVE!
( Seriously, where do they get this talent? )
In other news, I'm in the process of making laundry detergent - off to stir in the borax! :)
